Gardai have arrested two teenagers and conducted searches in connection with the investigation into the assault on Alanna Quinn Idris (17) and her friend in Ballyfermot.
The teenager, who suffered a ruptured eyeball, broken cheekbones, and a shattered tooth in the sickening attack, was first verbally abused from Dublin City Centre to Ballyfermot on December 30.
However, after exiting the bus and defending herself against the unprovoked abuse, the teenager was brutally attacked on the Ballyfermot Road by the cowards.
After conducting searches in the area, Gardai arrested two males in their late teens this morning.

Alanna Quinn Idris is a 17 years old teenager who was brutally attacked by two other teenagers and her friend in Ballyfermot.
Alanna Quinn Idris suffered severe facial injuries during the attack in Ballyfermot on the night of Thursday, December 30, including a ruptured eyeball, broken bones in her cheek and eye socket, and broken teeth.
She was also assaulted and cut with a knife, a guy friend she was with.

While Alanna has undertaken surgery, her family has been informed that there is a 90% chance she will lose sight of her right eye, which may need to be removed.
She was taken to St James’ Hospital from the attack scene but was transferred in the first hours of Friday morning to the Dublin Eye and Ear Hospital, where she stayed on Monday.

Alanna and an 18-year-old friend were on their way home from a shopping center when the attack began.
Alanna was then attacked on the ground, and her companion attempted to protect her – but he was beaten and stabbed.
Since the assault, nearly €70,000 has been raised to help Alanna and her friend, with her mother taking to Facebook to express her gratitude to the Irish people.
